Driving Test is a free, browser-based driving examination simulator. It has no accounts, no server of its own and nothing to sign up for. This page explains the one thing it does collect, and how to opt out of that too.
What is collected
With your consent, Driving Test uses Google Analytics to count page views and see roughly how the site is used: which pages are visited, which browser and device type, and general location at the country or city level. It does not know your name, your email address or anything else that identifies you personally, because nothing here ever asks for it.
Analytics never runs before you say yes. The banner shown on your first visit asks
whether to turn it on; declining means no analytics script loads and nothing is sent.
Your choice is remembered in your browser's local storage, under the key
roadtest.consent.v1, nowhere else, and not on any server, since there is
no server to hold it.
Accepting also lets Google Analytics set its own cookies in your browser (the
_ga family), which is how it tells one visit from the next. Declining
means they are never set. Google retains what it collects for up to 14 months, after
which it is deleted on Google's side; nothing is retained here, because nothing is
stored here.
Your choices
Change your mind at any time with the "Cookie preferences" link in the footer of this site, or the same option in the drive page's Settings menu. Declining, or revoking a previous acceptance, stops analytics immediately.
If you are in Canada
Driving Test is operated from British Columbia, so Canadian federal privacy law (PIPEDA) and British Columbia's Personal Information Protection Act apply to it. Analytics runs on your express consent, asked for before anything loads, and you may withdraw it at any time by the means described above. You have the right to ask what personal information is held about you and to have an inaccuracy corrected — though with no accounts and no server-side records, there is in practice nothing held here beyond the analytics described on this page.
If you are in the UK, the EEA or Switzerland
The legal basis for analytics is your consent, asked for before anything loads and withdrawable at any time by the means just described. Withdrawing it does not affect what was collected while it was given.
You have the right to ask what is held about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to object to or restrict its processing, to receive it in a portable form, and to complain to your national data protection authority. Because this site holds no accounts and no server-side records, there is generally nothing here to hand over — a request about analytics data is one Google, as the processor, is placed to answer, and the contact address below will point you at the right route.
Analytics data is processed by Google, which may transfer and store it in the United States and elsewhere, under the safeguards described in Google's own privacy terms.
If you are in California
Driving Test does not sell or share personal information, and has no financial incentive programmes. There is no account, so there is nothing to delete on request beyond declining analytics, which you can do yourself at any time.
Google Analytics
When enabled, analytics is processed by Google under its own privacy terms, not ours. See Google's Privacy Policy for what Google itself does with that data. Driving Test does not sell data, does not share it with anyone beyond this one processor, and runs no advertising and no other trackers.
Children's privacy
Driving Test is not directed at children under 13, and no information is knowingly collected from them. Much of its audience is of learner-driver age, so to be plain about it: where local law sets a higher age for consenting to analytics on your own — up to 16 in parts of the EEA — a visitor under that age should decline the analytics banner, or ask a parent or guardian before accepting. Declining costs you nothing: every part of the game works either way.
Changes to this policy
If what is collected ever changes, this page changes with it and the date above moves. There is no mailing list to notify, so this page is the one place to check.
