What this is
Driving Test is a free browser game built to practise the habits a real driving test looks for: mirror checks, shoulder checks, signalling, speed and lane discipline. It is a game, not a driving lesson. It is not driving instruction from a qualified instructor, it is not affiliated with any government, licensing authority or official driving examination body, and passing a drive in this simulator is not a prediction, promise or guarantee of passing a real driving test.
Nothing on this site replaces professional instruction, the official rules of the road where you live, or your own judgement behind the wheel of an actual vehicle.
About the region rules
The simulator lets you pick a region — for example the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, India or the United Arab Emirates — and changes how it marks you accordingly: which side you drive on, which signs appear, whether turning on a red light is permitted, how much room a cyclist is given, how long a stop sign is held, and how far over a posted limit is recorded as speeding.
These are simplified models, not statements of law. They are an approximation of some road rules in those places, built for a game. They may be incomplete, out of date, wrong, or inapplicable to your province, state, emirate or municipality, and road rules change without this site changing with them. No region here has been reviewed or approved by any authority in the place it is named after.
Where this simulator and the official highway code, driver's handbook or law of your jurisdiction disagree, the official one is correct and this one is wrong. It is your responsibility to learn the rules that actually apply to you, from a qualified instructor or the relevant authority, and not from this site.
One specific case, because it is the easiest to misread: the simulator does not record speeding until you are a few km/h over the posted limit. That slack exists because a keyboard throttle is either on or off and cannot be feathered the way a real pedal can. It is not a legal tolerance, and no road anywhere grants you one.
Learn mode is not tuition
Learn mode prompts you before a manoeuvre — which mirror, which shoulder, and why. Those prompts are part of the game. They are generated automatically from the same simplified model described above, they are not written, reviewed or delivered by a qualified driving instructor, and they are not tailored to you, your vehicle, your road or your jurisdiction. Treat them as practice cues, never as advice to act on in a real vehicle.
Who may use it
The site is intended for a general audience aged 13 or over. It is a game about driving and does not entitle anyone to drive: operating a real vehicle requires the licence or permit your jurisdiction demands, and nothing here substitutes for one.
Using the site
The site is provided for personal, non-commercial use. There is no account to create and no content here is for sale. You may not copy, redistribute or build another product from the site's code, text or imagery without permission.
No warranty
THE SITE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION ANY WARRANTY OF ACCURACY, MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR THAT THE SITE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE OR SECURE. YOU USE IT AT YOUR OWN RISK.
Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE OPERATOR OF DRIVING TEST IS NOT LIABLE FOR ANY DIRECT, INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF, OR INABILITY TO USE, THE SITE, INCLUDING, WITHOUT LIMITATION, ANY OUTCOME OF A REAL DRIVING TEST, ANY DRIVING DECISION MADE ON THE BASIS OF SOMETHING LEARNED OR PRACTISED HERE, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, SINCE NONE IS STORED ON A SERVER TO BEGIN WITH.
You are solely responsible for how you drive a real vehicle. This simulator is practice for habits. Its model of any region's rules is an approximation that may be wrong, it knows nothing of the road conditions, vehicle or licensing requirements that apply to you, and it is your responsibility to learn those from a qualified instructor or the relevant authority.
Your consumer rights
Nothing in these terms limits any right you have that cannot be limited by law. If you use the site as a consumer somewhere with mandatory consumer-protection rules — the United Kingdom, the European Economic Area and Australia among them — those rules apply to you regardless of what the two sections above say, and those sections apply only to the extent that law permits. Nothing here excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
Indemnity
To the extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify the operator of Driving Test against any claim brought by a third party arising from your use of the site in breach of these terms.
Severability
If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, that part is severed and the rest continues in force.
Changes
The site, and these terms, may change at any time. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the terms as they then read.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of British Columbia and the federal laws of Canada applicable in it, without regard to conflict of laws principles, and the courts of British Columbia have jurisdiction — except where the mandatory law of your own country gives you the right to bring proceedings locally, which these terms do not take away.
